AN ELDERLY woman was mugged as she walked along Pilkington Road, Blackley. A man knocked the 78-year-old woman to the floor by a man and snatched her purse containing ?30. The offender was a white, slim, aged between 18 and 20 years, had short dark brown curly hair, a clean complexion, an angular face with high cheek bones, a high and wide forehead, brown eyes, a narrow nose, wide thin mouth and square chin. He was wearing white T-shirt, pale blue jeans and blue and white trainers. Police are appealing for witnesses to the crime which happened at 5.50pm on Tuesday, March 28.
