OPPORTUNITIES to enjoy a healthier lifestyle are being developed by the family health organisation Zest.

Activities on offer range from yoga to self defence and are provided free or at subsidised rates to make them more affordable.

One to one support is also available to encourage people who may be unsure where to start in developing healthier habits.

Naomi Davies, the Zest coordinator, said: “If you are interested in enjoying a healthier life you might want to join a local Zest activity - from yoga to self defence they are all really cheap or even free. If you need a little one-to-one support to get you started, your local health trainer Sajda may be able to help you.”

Details of what's on offer are available by contacting the Zest Healthy Living Room on 908 8334/5 or 655 7881.

Zest is also inviting people to find out more about its services and contribute to discussions about local health needs at a health forum meeting on Wednesday 11 July.

The lunchtime meeting, that includes a free healthy halal buffet, will be held between noon and 2pm at Crumpsall Park Visitor Centre.

Anyone who is unable to attend the meeting but would like to contribute to the discussion is asked to contact Naomi with any comments.

Naomi will be preparing a report from the meeting which will be sent to local council and health workers operating in Crumpsall, Cheetham and Blackley. Any comments submitted will be included in the report.

Naomi added: “I really want you to come along to let me know are there any health and well being issues in the local area which are worrying you. If you can't attend please let me know your views so I can prepare a report to send to ward coordination / the joint health unit and Manchester Primary Care Trust.”
