A gatehouse will be sited at the access to the site from Delauney's Road and the applicants are applying to divert the route of the field footpath from Delauney's Road to Slack Road and re-route it along the river bank to improve security. The proposal includes providing an all-weather, floodlit, multi-sports area for five-a-side football, netball and three tennis courts for use by Avecia employees and associate members. Concern has been expressed that Zeneca's site, used as a chemical works including labs and storage accommodation, is contaminated with chemical waste and a survey is being recommended to establish whether the site is safe. The application will be considered on Thursday, February 3. |
