GOULISH goings-on are being offered to help people celebrate Halloween in a Night of Mischief in Manchester city centre. Ghost walks are being staged on Wednesday, October 31 with fun for all the family when visitors will be able to see the Gothic splendour of Albert Square as never seen before. Free ghost walks will leave Albert Square every 10 minutes from 6.10pm until 9.10pm but booking is essential on 0161 234 5242. There is also the chance to join a pumpkin workshop where experts will show how to make the scariest pumpkin lantern ever. Workshops will be held at The Triangle, Exchange Square, where visitors can also see The World's Biggest Pumpkin Display and try some spicy pumpkin soup and bob for apples. Pumpkin workshops begin at 4.30 pm and are free but children should bring their own pumpkin and tea light and reserve a place on 0161 234 5207. Pumpkins can be shown off in the grand Pumpkin Parade in Albert Square at 6.30 pm. The Night of Mischief will also feature a mask making workshop from 7.00 pm, haunting melodies for a ghostly grand piano, a spooky string quartet, children's fairground rides, fortune tellers, street entertainers, face-painting, and a guest appearance from Dracula. Children, and adults, are being encouraged to dress up in scary costume. |
