THE SECOND North Manchester Music Festival takes place on Sunday 19 August at Boggart Hole Clough from 12.00 noon - 10.00pm.

National Battle of the Bands competition winners Velvet Shore will be making their first Manchester appearance at the North Manchester Music Festival which aims to give a performance platform to the city's unsigned and up-and-coming bands.

The free event centres on the North City Live 2001 stage which will offer a line-up mix of guitar based bands, indie, rock and pop including the big sound of Tenacre who style themselves as 'progressive indie rock Manchester style'.

Trance, dance techno and a range of Guest DJs including nine-year-old DJ Kingy just back from a stint in Ibiza will feature in the Hole Dance Tent

The line up is Beau Normal, Love Wood, Slide, Furn, Pro-Create, Velvet Shore, Trip wire, Scuzzy, 39 Phoenix, Earl, Liquid, Dub, Gabrielles Wish, The Skillbillies and Tenacre.

North Manchester Music Festival is part of North City Live 2001, a calendar of free events showcasing music, dance, drama, visual arts, creativity, spaces, celebration, sport and leisure north of the city.

North Manchester Mela, North Manchester Veterans Games and North Face Festival have already taken place under the North City Live umbrella, attracting over 15, 000 people to the events.
