FUNDRAISERS have collected ?2,600 towards the cost of repainting, improving classrooms and providing seating in the playground at St Anne's Primary School. The Friends of St Anne's raised the money for the Crumpsall school after staging a series of charity events. Staff and pupils at the school are also celebrating success in a city-wide road safety contest. Children at the school reached the final of the Road Safety Quiz at Manchester Town Hall. More than 50 schools entered the contest and, although St Anne's were not outright winners, they did receive ?50 for their school funds and met Manchester's Lord Mayor John Smith. The school has a vacancy for a nursery teacher to start in September and is inviting anyone who is a practicing Roman Catholic and a qualified nursery teacher to contact Fr Mackie on 740 2448. |
