Lansdowne Road
AITED supermarket opens its doors to customers on Tuesday to breathe new life into the run down Lansdowne Road shopping parade.

The area lost its only supermarket when the Co-op pulled out of the area a year ago leaving the parade without a vital retail anchor needed to attract customers.

Businesses have continued to survive despite the blow and the custom manages to support two thriving butchers, a bakers, a newsagent, four hair salons, a beauty parlour, electrical store, a pet shop, a general store and a betting shop.

Traders are hoping Tuesday's opening will plug the gap left by the Co-op and give shoppers the opportunity to meet all their shopping needs without travelling outside the area.
