An incredible goal from Prestwich Heys 'keeper Paul Johnston gave the visitors an early lead at East Manchester, but the home side recovered to win 2-1 with a late goal from Andy Wilkinson writes Scott White.

The Heys number one netted 'Pat Jennings' style within five minutes, but Martyn Stewart levelled before half-time before Wilkinson's winner ten minutes from time.

Mitchell Shackleton and Atherton Town slugged out an eight-goal thriller at Salteyer Park as both sides took a point from a 4-4 draw. Mitchells were 2-0 and 4-2 ahead through goals from Dave Pyke, Danny Butters and a brace from John Robinson, but Atherton's Phli Hornby was in red hot form netting all Town's goals.

Stockport Georgians collected a convincing 3-0 home win over Springhead to climb off the bottom of the Premier Division. Neil Allen netted another two goals for Georgians with Dave Morgan adding the other.

Whitworth Valley opened up a four-point lead over third placed Hindsford with an eye-catching 4-2 win at Wythenshawe Town. Valley opened up a 3-0 lead before half-time and rode a Town comeback to confirm the win. Grant Proctor and Rory McDowell netted two each for Valley, Leon Warmington and Mike Botham giving Town hope with second half goals.

Whalley Range made a welcome return to winning ways with a 3-2 victory at Wilmslow Albion. Mike Ryan and Ray Nevins were both on target for Albion but Range sealed the points through a brace from Jason McNulty with Lee Fuller bagging the other.

Ashton Athletic grabbed their sixth win in nine games with a 2-1 triumph at Old Alts. Mike McGrane gave the Latics the lead, and sealed the win with a Paul Ince goal, Jonathan Quinn getting Alts effort.

Tintwistle Villa pulled level on points with Old Alts courtesy of a 3-2 win at Manchester Royal. Villa were always in the ascendancy through goals from Roy Watson, Dave Dickins and Steve Woolley, but goals from Eke Eme and Wayne Warburton kept Royal in touch.

Milton were also impressive winners away from home as they defeated Avro 2-1 at the Lancaster Club. Mark Kay and Carl Smith were the Rochdale side's scorers with Gary Smith finding the net for Avro
