HOME owners in Blackley may have the right to claim compensation for any fall in the value of their properties resulting from the opening of the Manchester Outer Ringroad. People with property near the M60 extension between the Denton and Middleton section may have a claim for depreciation of their property values. Claims may be made if the property has lost value because of nuisance - such as noise, vibration, smell, fumes, smoke or artificial lighting - arising from the use of the new section of the motorway or other roads under the scheme. Claimants must have acquired the property before the road was opened and still own it when making their claim. Claims may be made from 12 months after the road opened, allowing people to apply from October 30, 2001, and claims may be made at any time up to six years from that date. Application forms and further details are available from Carol Still at the Highways Agency, Lands Division, Sunley Towers, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE or by phone on 0161 930 5729. |
