A SATISFACTION survey is being carried out in north Manchester to establish how people feel about services they receive. A questionnaire has been sent out to a sample of residents in the area who have been asked for their opinions on a range of services provided by Manchester City Council, the emergency services and transport chiefs. The survey covers waste collection and recycling, bus and tram services, recreation, policing and fire services and is the first in a series to be repeated every three years with a different sample of residents. Information collected in the survey is confidential and anonymous but the answers given will help plan services for the next three years based on what the public wants. An independent research company, Kwest, has been appointed to carry out the survey and questionnaires have been delivered to households throughout the Blackley constituency. Serena Roberts, research co-ordinator for Kwest, hopes everyone will return their questionnaire to help the authorities meet the community's needs. She said: "The council is interested in hearing views about local services such as street cleaning, local transport, leisure facilities, schools and social services. "There are also some questions on behalf of the police, the fire service and the greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority and Executive. "All of the data will be treated in the strictest confidence and will only be used to monitor the council's services. "Only anonymous responses may be passed to the local and regional government research unit which will use the data to study national patterns of service satisfaction." |
