WORKERS at a Cheetham GP surgery are celebrating after their dedication to patient care was recognised by NHS bosses. Dr Gul Khan's surgery in Shirley Road, Cheetham has received the Manchester 2000 Patient Charter after proving they meet standards for staff training, confidentiality and house visits. The practice received a charter certificate from Prof John Higgins, regional chairman of the NHS Executive in the north west. Shaheen Kazi, the surgery manager, was proud of the achievement and the hard work put in by staff to qualify for the award which is one of the first to be granted under the scheme. She said: "The standards are set by the health authority and they assess whether these standards have been met based on services to patients and the quality of staff training. "The Manchester 2000 Quality Mark recognises that we are doing things right and we are meeting patients' needs." |
