The post will be funded by the North Manchester Regeneration Initiative through the Single Regeneration Budget and will be based with the council's sports unit Manchester Leisure.

Community involvement in sport is part of the initiative's regeneration programme to improve employment and quality of life for local people.

The new recruit will deliver a co-ordinated programme of sports coach education and development in the north Manchester area to ensure access to opportunity for the local community with focus on young people.
