PARENTS, staff and past pupils said farewell to dedicated teacher Angela Curran when she retired after 24 years at St Dunstan's RC Primary School in Moston. On Saturday, July 15, Ms Curran stepped down from her post as acting deputy head and celebrated her lifetime of teaching at a reception given in appreciation of her services. At the reception in the parish centre on Kenyon Lane, a presentation on behalf of the school governors was made to Ms Curran by the vice-chair of the board Councillor Bill Risby. Prior to the reception, the Parish Priest Fr Michael, the governors' chair, celebrated mass in thanksgiving for her dedication to the children of the parish and the service she has given to the teaching profession. The church was filled to capacity by friends, relatives, colleagues and parishioners as Fr Michael acknowledged her part in preparing generations of children for the responsibilities of adult life. In making the presentation, Cllr Risby said: "Angela Curran's dedicated service exemplifies all the very best qualities of the teaching profession. "Angela can retire knowing she has done a wonderful job in educating so many of our young people and the governors and staff are extremely grateful." |
