CLASSIC coaching vehicles will go on display in a special exhibition at the Museum of Transport in Cheetham on Sunday, May 7. The Boyle street museum is staging a Century of Coaching with a collection of vehicles charting the history of coach design throughout the 20th Century. There will be a storyboard taking visitors through the development of coach services and operators including major milestones which have shaped present day vehicles. An illustrated programme and a colour postcard pack has been produced to accompany the exhibition and there will be a prize draw and a cut price sale of models in the museum shop. The event is being run in tandem with an exhibition at the Manchester Velodrome when more veteran vehicles will be on show and there will be a bus service linking the two sites throughout the day. Doors open at the museum at 10am and the exhibition closes at 5pm. |
